  • Job Details
  • Med-surg travel nurse needed in Eastern Nebraska.
  • Small hospital in a friendly Midwest community.
  • Travel nurse needs acute CAH RN experience.
  • This will be a swing bed position.
  • 36 hours per week and the shift is 7p - 7a.
    • Job Requirements
    • ACLS, BLS, PALS
    • need to be ED qualified, but it is Swing so they need to do MS too.
      • Schedule Information
      • Shifts are from 0630-1900, 1830-0700
      • Self-scheduling with manager approving
      • Weekend Requirements: At least every 3rd, at times every other
      • Holiday Requirements: Rotation per unit needs
        • Unit Specific Information
        • Number of Beds: 10
        • Is there a Charge Nurse on each shift? Does the charge nurse take an assignment?: Yes
        • Are there nurse aides/patient care techs on this unit? Ratios? Duties?: Yes- 1:8
        • Floating Requirements: Can float to ED to be back up help if volumes surge
        • Scrub Color/Dress Code/Scrubs Provided?: Navy Blue
        • How many shifts of unit/department specific orientation?: 2 days
          • Additional Details
          • Nurse:Patient Ratios: Typically 1:3-4
          • Common diagnosis/Types of patients: Adults and geriatrics, occasional peds
          • Majority of Census is Swing bed needing IV abx, therapy or wound care
          • Medical patients vary: Diabetic, pancreatitis, pneumonia, etc
          • Attributes that help a nurse be successful in this department include: willingness to jump in and help wherever needed
          • Best thing about working in this department are the family feel and the great teamwork culture not only on the unit, but among ancillary depts as well
