Pastor overseeing Next Generation Ministries serves as a primary
teacher at Lincoln Berean Church, is a member of the Governing
Elder Board, and partners in the overall leadership of the church
as a member of the Church Leadership Team. This role participates
in the teaching ministry and provides strategic leadership,
management, and oversight for Next Generation discipleship at
Lincoln Berean Church. This individual will play a key role in
aligning Next Generation discipleship initiatives with the church's
mission, curating and integrating resources, developing leaders,
and managing financial resources to support the ministry's
goals.The ideal candidate is a proven and experienced teacher and
collaborative leader who can work in partnership with fellow Church
Leadership Team members as well as participate in the team-teaching
of the church as a whole. Beyond their experience as a teacher, a
candidate should have experience developing leaders, teams, and
structures to sustain the ministry and be adept at working
collaboratively with other ministries within the church. They
should have experience in catalyzing new initiatives and rallying
people behind a mission. This person should also have a pastoral
heart willing to serve on the On-call team, officiate weddings and
funerals, etc.We are looking for someone who loves Jesus more than
anything and desires for each person at Lincoln Berean Church to
move toward a whole-hearted commitment to learning from Jesus and
participating in the work He is doing in the world.The five key
roles for this 'seat' are:
- Teaching Ministry
- Collaborative Vision Making and Vision Casting
- Leadership, Coaching, Development
- Next Generation Discipleship Philosophy and Execution
- Budget Key Roles and Responsibilities:Teaching Ministry
- Share in the Teaching Ministry by preaching approximately
30-35% of the annual preaching calendar.
- Teach in classroom, workshop, and Next Generation environments
as needed.
- Assist in the continued development team-teaching philosophy
and practice.
- Serve as a Governing Elder. Collaborative Vision Making and
Vision Casting
- Work with Church Leadership Team to discern future strategic
direction for LBC.
- Possess a keen cultural awareness and a willingness to
experiment to improve ministry effectiveness.
- Communicate vision with staff, leaders, and church body as a
whole. Leadership, Coaching, Development
- Participate and share in the leadership of staff development
opportunities.
- Provide visionary leadership for the Next Generation Ministry,
setting strategic goals and objectives in alignment with the
church's mission and vision.
- Effectively manage and oversee the day-to-day operations of the
Next Generation Ministry, including staffing, volunteers, and
facilities.
- Lead regular meetings with the Next Generation Team. Next
Generation Discipleship Philosophy and Execution
- Develop and articulate a clear and comprehensive Next
Generation discipleship philosophy that aligns with the church's
overall discipleship strategy.
- Create and execute a discipleship plan that addresses the
unique needs and challenges of the Next Generation, guiding them on
their spiritual journey.
- Collaborate with ministry leaders to design discipleship
pathways, curriculum, and resources tailored to different age
groups within the Next Generation.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of discipleship
initiatives, making data-driven adjustments to optimize
discipleship outcomes. Budget
- Develop, manage, and oversee the budget for the Next Generation
Ministry, ensuring responsible stewardship of financial
resources.
- Collaborate with the church's finance team to establish annual
budgets and financial plans that support the ministry's goals and
objectives.
- Monitor expenditures, analyze financial data, and make informed
decisions to optimize budget allocation and resource utilization.

Education/Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree and 4-5 years of professional experience
required.
- Master's degree in theology or ministry-related field
required.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a strategic leadership and
teaching role in a ministry context.
- Strong systems thinking, problem solving, and decision-making
skills.
- Self-starter with proven ability to work cooperatively as a

Must make Lincoln Berean Church their home church and participate
in the life of the community (Life Group).
